Tao – behind the production

The frame

“We wanted the metal structure to be obviously sturdy, in order to bear a community use, but we wanted it to be as light as possible from an aesthetic point of view.

That’s why we opted for a single vertical support, instead of the classic two, plus a horizontal traverse that forms this T-shape
from which the name of the chair itself derives.”

The wooden shell

“Regarding the plywood there has been a long and laborious fine-tuning, because they clearly had to perfectly embrace both the metal frame and the aluminum die castings.

We had to make additional changes and fine-tuning so that structurally the overall structure would work fine and guarantee the right comfort.”

The designers

In the designs of Orlandini, simplicity is the most remarkable feature. Simplicity means designing simple technical solutions that make the product both economical and reliable. It also means designing with an eye to the manufacturing problems.
Products are designed with the planned potential to be personalized and modified, following the market demands.
