When an object becomes iconic, you can begin to start exploring new variants, one-offs, or building a capsule collection around it. In this light, the creative flair of designer Francesco Favaretto, the variety and potential of Kvadrat textiles and the occasion of an international trade fair (Dubai Design Week), the special and colorful edition of the Fender family took shape.
The mind of a young and visionary designer, the product of a company celebrating its 40th anniversary this year and the fabrics of one of the world’s leading textile manufacturers come together for an unprecedented collection.
The 20 fabrics selected and used by Favaretto to emphasise the iconic roundness of Fender, a family of upholstered furniture that includes sofas, armchairs and lounge chairs, respect all the high standards of Kvadrat production: resistance, sustainability, high degree of comfort and refined design.
The shape that characterizes the Fender seating family is transformed into an ergonomic grip, and the stylistic hallmark of the Fender side table. A coffee or side table, easily positioned or relocated. Virtually anywhere. The Fender side table by Favaretto and Partners is designed in three variants (16” diameter x 16” high, 18” diameter x 20” high, and 22” diameter x 24” high).
The fabric becomes a tool in the hands of the designer to give life to an artistic interpretation of an industrial product, bringing objects produced on a larger scale back to the human and personal dimension.
In a world where production quality increasingly goes hand in hand with less product exclusivity, the capsule collection that True will premiere at Dubai Design Week opens up a new frontier in its collection: limited and customized editions.
